Adjusting page height

I've looked and looked, but can't find the answer.

How do I/Can I set a minimum height for my pages?
When there's nothing in the cart, or there's little text on the page the footer is just kinda hanging there mid page.

When there's stuff on the page it's normal -

But this is what happens when it's empty -

.centerColumn {min-height:500px}

Another way is to have your footer always at the bottom of the screen unless content pushes it lower.
