Image suffixs not working

So I have a image, it's called picture.png

I want to make a med, and lrg version of it so i make to more files name them picture_MED.png, picture_LRG.png and put them into the same folder as picture.png... That doesnt work it just comes up as additional images... then I try to make a large folder and a medium folder, the images wont even show up. What am I doing wrong!

you can get a lot more details ... but the basic issue is where you have loaded the files ...

/images/picture.png
/images/medium/picture_MED.png
/images/large/picture_LRG.png

additional images:
/images/picture_something.png

additional large images:
/images/large/picture_something_LRG.png

what do you mean by "Something"

I have for additional images...

root/images/tshirts/4stars/stars_01.png
root/images/tshirts/4stars/medium/stars_01_MED.png
root/images/tshirts/4stars/large/stars_01_LRG.png

And it's not working for additional images...

Your "something" is using the:
stars.png
stars_01.png
starts_02.png

the base products_image is:
stars.png

the extention is:
stars.png

stars.png "owns" all files that start with:
stars

and end in .png

NOE: there is only 1 Medium image for display on the product _info page ... there are not multiple Medium images ...

So i cannot have medium and large images for "additional images"

Because what i wanted was you see the color, lets say, "blue" (in additional images) so click on it, and a blue t shirt comes up... Your saying that is not possible...

P.S. Not talking about main image...
