Hi all,

I have a question regarding the built in Z/C hit counter



It says "158 - 12784"

I am wondering what the 158 means and what the 12784 means

Does it mean 158 unique visitors and 12784 page hits?

That is correct ...

The first number is the unique sessions, meaning the first hit to the site and the second is the number of pages hit once there ...

NOTE: if a customer comes in at 10:00am that is the first hit, and all pages during that session are the page hits ... but if the customer later comes back around 3:00pm and/or starts a new session, then that will act as a new first Hit then add to the additional pages hit ...

How come you have ~100 page views per session? Seems a bit high to be correct!

yes it seems odd to get this many page hits from only 106 visits today. tbh i have been the victim of a phishing scam where someon has used my site to build their credibilty in the "must be 10K + emails" sent out from I think their own email system.

I got 31K page views today, very very odd (106 - 31374)

I am using 1.3.9f

Could you go to your Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter:
counter.php

How many files show with the line:

yeah the ratio of visits/page views is a little weird, here is mine
