    Default Bad Install

Hello. First of all thanks to the admins and contributors for all the help there is on this forum, i found it extremely useful.

    Now for the problem ...

I have Zen Cart 1.3.9g installed on godaddy.com via their own installer. It was working great right up until I installed SSL certificate and was given a dedicated IP. Now I am getting a lot of HTTP 500 Internal Server errors. According to go daddy customer support i have a bad install, and they suggest i start from scratch!!

As advised elsewhere on this forum i took a look at the cache folder for the logs and this is what i am getting everytime, the files vary but the error is always the same.

[15-Nov-2010 02:11:35] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\Hosting\6548667\html\zencart\includes\languages\english\other_images_names.ph p on line 14

Now I am lost, do I really need to perform a whole new install?

    thanks

    C.

Have you edited your configure.php file and set SSL to true?

I'd also suggest you do upgrade as there are some bug fixes.

It's likely your upgrade wont be so difficult from 1.3.9g to 1.3.9h
    That wasn't the plan!

Yes I have updated the configure files as per the mentioned article.

I will have to go into updating the cart into a little more detail, I'll try a search and find the relavant threads.

I have a funny feeling that the 'bad install' statement was just an excuse for ...' we don't have a clue with what is wrong '

on godaddy.com via their own installer.
Please take some good advice and find another host now - if you don't the frustration and problems are going to continue. If you search the forum you'll see there are 100's of posts from folks that highlight all of the problems there.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Thanks Kim point taken. When funds enable it i will migrate to different hosting

I am in a position to swap from a windows operating system to Linux. If i do so, it should theoretically sole the Files Permissions issue for me. Will an OS swap have any ill effects on my Zen Cart Shop?
