Products dispay issues

I did a search in the tutorials but couldn't come up with anything on this. When i setup my products and their descriptions, it looks like the text is being displayed vertically, rather than horizontal. This is causing all other products in the category to "push down" the page. Is there anyway to display these descriptions vertically when you are looking at a category?

I managed to turn off product weight, manufacturer and model which allowed enough space for items to be displayed in a horizontal manner....is there a way to keep these features "on" and have the products still display horizontal?

This what I see and it is horozontal within the space allowed??

Actually, it's when multiple products are displayed in a category, not the product description itself. If I turn the weight, model and manufacturer info back on, the products are displayed vertically, but becasue the description field is narrow(as the weight model and manu are shown), it defaults to a very narrow field for description...so it formats it vertically.....this is what I meant....perhaps i'm confusing myself?
