Fundraiser mod?

Hello All,

I am currently using Zen 1.3.9e. Tried to upgrade to the latest version but had problems and didn't see where the enhancements were worth the problems.

I've installed Dual Pricing, Easy Populate, and Snap Affiliates mods and modified the code only so much as to make it "mine" so to speak.

What I'm needing is to add a text input box under the referral code box for ppl to input their "cause" for fundraisers. I've already modified my data base to include "donors_cause" field after the "customer_referral_details" field. I can modify the .php's to include the field on the customer sign up page, but am having problems connecting the data that's inputed to the data base and there is no place within admin to control the data. Can someone help or possibly create a "fundraiser" mod?
