    Default Admin table missing

Today I went to log into my admin and it said my user name and password were incorrect. I checked the myphp and looked at all the tables and I found that the admin table the admin log and one other table just below that was missing. Sorry, I saw a screen shot of someone elses myphp while looking for solutions and noticed there were three I didn't have but I can't remember what it was called. Basically there were no tables between the address tables and the banners table.

Anyway, I followed the directions given in this thread
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...=132951&page=3

and was able to re-create the admin table and then I used the code for entering a temporary admin log in.

In the table it shows 'Admin' as a user but it still says that I have the incorrect user name and password and I can't log in.

Would the other missing table(s) be the reason and if so can I re-create those as well?

I have a backup but I'm sorry to say it's a little out of date. (I haven't been real active with my zen cart lately. It has been able to run on it's own with instant downloads with no problems)

I did a back up of the database today.

When restoring a database does it copy over the old tables or does it delete the tables? I'm asking because I'm wondering if I could restore my older back up to return the admin tables and then restore my latest backup that doesn't have the admin files and the old ones won't be overwritten. Does that make sense? I really don't want to lose any new customer information.

Can you restore just certain tables from a backup using myphpadmin? I've only been able to find out how to restore the whole database.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I'm still using version 1.3.8

    Unfortunately you already have
Try wzpanding your backup locally open it it in a code editor
copy those tables you are missing to another file named with a .sql suffix

Upload that file - - some customers addresses will be missing and those might receive an error

But I suggest that you check that you have not been hacked

    What version are you running?
Has it had the security patches applied?

Thanks Kobra. I'll see if I can figure out your instructions. :) As you can probably tell I'm I novice at this kind of stuff.

I'm still running 1.3.8 at the moment. I don't believe I've run any patches. As I said before, I haven't been real diligent with my zen cart lately. It has been running well for a couple of years now and I haven't had the need to come to the forum. This will teach me to check in once in a while. :)

I'm not sure if I've been hacked or not. I can probably tell more when or if I can get back into the admin panel. I've taken my site offline for now but when I was at it earlier it looked normal. I'll have to check everything to see what changes may have been made.

I'll work on it tomorrow and see what I can do. Once I get this mess straightened out I'll update to the newer version. I'm sure I'll be back if I still have problems. :)

    Thanks again.

    Well, I'm back.

I expanded and looked at several of my backups and for some reason I don't see any admin tables at all. They all go from the adddress_format table to the banners table. This is exactly what my database looks like right now. Do you know why this would be? Or more important what I should do now?

Also, when you said to upload the sql file (with the copied tables) did you mean to use the myphp admin and restore that file? I don't deal with databases that much and wasn't sure exactly what that meant.
