Coupon valid for a specific day of the week

Dear All,

As usual, a lot of reading & searching before posting, so I hope I didn't miss the obvious...

I am looking at having a coupon valid every Tuesday.
In the Coupon admin, you can set a specific date or a range but there is no option for recurrence.
I looked at the Add ons, no luck there neither.

I could set up my coupon for next Tuesday and copy it 52 times, changing the date each time to the following Tuesday, so it would work until next year... but I hope there is a smarter way.
Update: Actually, I couldn't... I just noticed I cannot duplicate and use the same coupon code...
How could I do let's say a 50% off on the same selected items every Tuesday?

this addon allows to automatically send emails to customers based on e.g dates.

am currently working on a module which dynamically generates individuell coupon codes with a dynamic valid date e.g. 7 days from sending date.

that will do what you are looking for.

edit: it could also be the same coupon code which is recurring valid for one day, depending on your business requirements

That would be great IF my target was my customers list but those coupons are meant to be used by anyone, such as folks looking at our Facebook page, at an advertising in a magazine... therefore people I don't have an email address for.

so you could set up coupon codes and have a small programm triggered by cronjobs automatically modifying the coupon validation dates - basically "switch them on and off" - in given intervalls. that would give you the recurrent coupon functionality.

that small programm could be a mailbeez "service module" which not necessarily needs to send out any email nor need to have any customers: e.g. there is a mailbeez service module for optimizing the DB - it doesnt send out only a report of the result

the mailbeez framework provides the features to keep the programm module nice and easy - just needs a cronjob to trigger it e.g. on a daily basis.

of course you could build that programm independendly but would need to build a couple of basic functions.

Actually I found THE perfect solution: "That software guy".
His Add ons called "Big Chooser" offers a lot of options for discounts that I was looking for and the timing/recurrence is included in his software.
Combined with his "Discount Preview" and "Auto Add", I solved all my discounts projects in about 30 minutes.
