Downloadable Music Question

Hello!

I am building a site that will offer downloadable mp3s of my wife's music. I've read about how to set up the attributes to each mp3 file so that the customer can download the file once they pay. However, I would also like to sell an entire album (up to 14 songs) of her music electronically via mp3. Does ZC have an attribute setting to accommodate that? Thanks.

I am supposing that you are wanting to allow the customer to select the tracks that make up the album....if so, no attribute setting

Well, yes. If they choose to purchase the entire album they need access to all the songs on that album. My wife has five CDs available. Some have as few as 11 songs and others as many as 14.

But they will not have the option to choose which songs they want if they purchase the album. They will get all of them.

Create it as a product and depending upon size of download as one download or in parts

I did create it (I did one so far) as a product, but I'm not sure how to make 14 songs one download. All the mp3s are in my store/download folder, but as individual songs.

Don't you have one file that represents the album?

I would make one for each album or a compressed version like a zip

If you set up an attribute Option Name (ie "Track 1") as a radio-button and only assign *one* option value (ie "instant download") to it, and set it as Default, then it will be auto-selected and cannot be accidentally unclicked when adding to cart.
If you then repeat that for each track, linking each file as separate single attributes, each set as default, then all those separate tracks will be automatically included when the product is added to the cart. And thus upon checkout all the zips will be listed as downloadable files, not only on the invoice, but also in their My Account area as downloadable links.

I zipped an album and uploaded the zipped folder to my download folder.

Then I followed the instruction on this page when setting up the product.
