What did I do wrong ?

Hi All,

Not sure how and why, but I just now downloaded the zen-cart folder again from their site, and did all the steps all over again, and guess what...BINGO....I got to the login page for the admin panel.

WOW after a long 1 week struggle...finally, thanks to all of you who have been sharing you suggestions and helping me. :-)

I am sure I will need a lot of them as I move forward....

I still have 2 questions

1) Now that my admin page has come up and I am able to login into it, what next ? Is there any guide apart from FAQ's section which can guide me how to start working in the admin panel and where to start from ?

2) Even now, if I am typing in the browser, www.mydomain.com

I am getting an error page saying " Index of
* catalog

Why would this happen, few minutes when I was typing www.mydomain.com it was taking me to a page www.mydomain.com/catalog/index.php and was showing me the basic green color zen page with all the dummy data and text etc. But not I am getting this index of error message.

The message you are getting means that your hosting company has enabled "Directory Browsing", which is a security risk. Get them to disable it.

Also, if someone inputs yourdomain.com and you actually want them to go straight to yourdomain.com/catalog/ then you need to put a 301 redirect in a .htaccess file in the root of your hosting. Google for "301 redirect by .htaccess" and you'll get plenty of answers.
