    Default email html not working

    Hi
    I am using v1.3.9f but cannot seem to get my html email to work. I have a test customer that has the same email address as my admin. On checkout confirmation I receive a html email for the admin but the test customer on the same address receives it in plain text. I have another test customer that I set up to use a completely different address and that comes in plain text as well.

    In Configuration | My Store | I have enabled - HTML Editor

    In the ADMIN Configuration | E-Mail Options

    E-Mail Transport Method is set to php
    MIME HTML When Sending Emails = "true"
    Send E-Mails = true
    Email Admin Format = HTML

    any ideas??

    Each individual customer's email preference must be set to HTML if they want to receive HTML-formatted emails. If they've selected TEXT mode, then they'll just get TEXT messages.

    Thanks - the two test customer email accounts are set up to receive html
    one on these accounts is also my admin email address which recevies the html email without any problems. It is obviously working for the
    Email Admin Format = HTML
    but not for the customer automatic emails for some reason........

    Zen Cart checks the recipient email address against the customer list. If it finds it in the customer list, it uses that customer's preference. Else it uses text-only.

    If the preference is set to HTML and the emails are not actually arriving in HTML format then something is happening to the message after Zen Cart hands it off to the email delivery engine on your hosting server, and that's completely outside the control of Zen Cart.

    If you want proof that it's sending in HTML format, turn on Email Archiving and use the Archive Manager addon to see it for yourself.

    You may have to sort out the problem of mangled emails by talking to your hosting company.

    You might also try using SMTPAUTH as your transport protocol so that the emails are less likely to be treated as spam.

    I too am having this issue. I have e-mail archive turned on and sometime between October 4th and 7th, all e-mails were switched to "text" as to the method of being sent. I cannot find anything in my records showing that anything was changed in that time period.

    I have checked smtp/php, port. I have the same settings as the original poster.

    Admittedly, I'm still on 1.3.9e for reasons that are not pertinent to this thread.

    I don't know if this another clue or not - when I click view Admin -> Tools -> E-mail Welcome I get a pink bar across the top with just one word: header

    So.... in case that helps?
