Flat Rate Fee - US Customers

I need to set a flat rate shipping fee of $4.95 for US customers only. No minimum order total required. I have 3 zones set up - 1 for US - 2 Canada - 3 the rest of the world.

I have one category where all the items are free and shipping is also free, using the freeshipper module.

What shipping module(s) are using for these 3 Zones?

On the Products for Free Shipping are you using Always Free Shipping or 0 weight ...

The shippings modules are - USPS, freeshipper, and Flat Rate Module. (cloned) I have 6 Flat Rate options, 2 for US, 2 for Canada and 2 for everyone else.


The products using free shipping are marked as --> Yes, Always Free Shipping - and I have the products shipping weights as 0.

Always Free Shipping is for *everyone* gets Free Shipping on that Product and uses the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module ...

While this has a Zone on it, that is does not work like other Zones and is there for developers to customize code more readily ...

So what are you wanting to happen when you have a Product that is marked as Always Free Shipping YES in the shopping cart?

I offer a free sample packet with free shipping to each of my customers, no matter where they are from. Customers must spend a penny before they can get their free sample, so they must also purchase something else and pay for shipping. I've had my cart set up like this for years and it works great!

I'd like to offer a flat shipping fee for my US customers for the holidays, if possible.

So the basic limitation is that there has to be a non-free shipping product in the cart or the customer cannot checkout ... if they have one of the Free Items with Free Shipping correct?

Yes, that is correct.

If you have to have a regular Product in the Order to get a Product with Free Shipping and can NEVER have Free Shipping only Products in the Order without a regular shipping Product ...

Then just don't install the FREE SHIPPING freeshipper shipping module ...

What will happen is there is no way to checkout until a Product with shipping is in the order ...
