Check the /cache for mydebug files

Might add a bit on what you use to FTP with and if any edits - - what editor you use

oh but now i can't get to the admin area.

Is this relating to the admin folder name change?

    Thanks

Did it work ad now not?

When you renamed the admin folder did you also edit the /admin/includes/configure.php file to reflect the new folder name?
As I recall there are only 2 places where you need to edit it
