Does it matter which folder I place the image in?
Best to just place them in the main /images folder at the root of your ZenCart install
Insert/Modify Image what exactly is the Image URL?
A relative link to it would be - if your cart is at the root

/images/your.jpg

or if you have it in a folder
/your zencart folder/images/your.jpg
