application error Font in checkout, my account, etc changed size...

    Hello all,

I recently added a favicon to my site, which I had to do for most files individually. I put the code into some files in the directory includes/languages/english/

Once I finished doing some, I began checking the pages I added the icon into. After say 7 files, all the font in the checkout, account, advanced search, etc became too large for my liking.

What exactly I done was add <link href="http://www.trimwoolshop.ie/favicon.png" type="image/x-icon" rel="shortcut icon" /> to the end of files after ?> which seemed to do the trick.

Then after adding it to a few files, the font changed size.

    My site is www.trimwoolshop.ie

    I am using v1.3.9g.

Any feedback or help would be gratefully appreciated.

Just to add to the above, I added this code at the end of english.php and it added the favicon.png to all directories on the site, but it again had the same affect. I removed it from english.php but left it in advanced_search.php so you guys can see what I'm talking about...

    Page in question is http://trimwoolshop.ie/shoponline/in...dvanced_search

As you can see, the font has changed dramatically compared to the size of everything on my site. It changes all font including the directory below the menu bar.

Any help in getting the font to stay after I enter the favicon code into english.php would be great.

First, you should go back through and delete that line that you added to any files that you added it to. One thing, it's not needed for you to show a favicon, and another thing is you've hard-coded an absolute path to your image which will give a warning once you get SSL installed.

Then, once you get all that done, re-do your favicon in an icon format (.ico) instead of the .png format that you have it in. Once you get that done and uploaded to your site, it will automatically be loaded for the entire site.

If your graphics software isn't capable of saving in the .ico format, you can find free icon software by doing a Google search for "icon maker freeware". If you use Photoshop, you can Google "icon photoshop plugin" and find free ones.

That's soooooo much better and easier.

Oh yea..........I forgot.........if you decide NOT to change your favicon, then add this to your stylesheet.css for that page:

    Code:
    #advSearchDefault {font-size: 12px;}

I done what you said but it's not showing up. I have the file in the main directory (http://www.trimwoolshop.ie/favicon.ico)

Should I have it that or one of these...
http://trimwoolshop.ie/shoponline/ which is my zen cart directory

    or

    http://trimwoolshop.ie/shoponline/images

    ???

    Thanks

It should be in the root directory of your store (/shoponline). It displays when you point the browser right to the image, so it's in the right place. Different browsers handle favicons differently, so sometimes it takes a while to show up. Try clearing your browser cache and restarting the browser.

I done all stevesh and Get Em Fast suggested... Took the code out I entered in all files, re-done the icon and changed to .ico. Cleared my cache, restarted my browser and I put it into the main directory (public_html) and it works fine now.

    Thanks for the help guys.
