We want to be able to have more or less texts in the description area. It cuts the text off to early. What file needs to be modified to fix this?

admin > config > featured listing > Display Product Description > set more or less

I did that and on the main page it still displays the same amount. I set to 400 from original 150 and nothing has changed

Then it is most likely another kludge from your template monster template theme076

Contact them as to why they have disabled a standard feature
