Default Subcategories disappear when a category description is added.

Thanks in advance... I find that with the default description page (no category description text added), the subcategories for that category show at the top of the category page. I removed the "New Products" from all pages, and then the category pages were empty except for the subcategories. I added some text to the category page and the subcategories went away (although they're still listed in the sidebar).

Is there a way to designate whether the sucategories appear at the top regardless of whether text is entered in the category description or not?

    Thanks,

    Doug Dye

Not sure what you mean by "top" but if the center section that is the default action unless your template has done something to change it

Thanks for the response. You're correct, I am using a template. CLICK HERE for a screenshot, I have circled what it looks like without a text description in a category. When you add a text description the subcategories (circled in red) disappear, and are replaced by the text description.

    Thanks again.

Wow, my bad, I wasn't thinking...

    Here's the link:

Look at the categories, they all show subcategories (the ones that have subcategories) except for the Titanium Scissors category. It has categories, but when I add the text description, there are no longer categories listed.

Check the top cat "Titanium Scissors"t, as it should only have subcats and no products
If you have actual products in/under the top cat and subcats, which should not happen, then this is an issue
