    Default Status History & Comments (Customer & Admin side) Duplicate entries?

    Using v1.3.9h with my test account.

    Pictures say a lot -



    This only happens using the standard Paypal payment module. Payment only goes through once (phew) but this could worry customers seeing duplicate entries in their account history. Plus why is the first entry blank. Every thing else works perfect after some tweaking here and there.

    Any ideas on what could be causing this?

    a) the first entry is blank because the customer didn't enter any comments during checkout
    b) the duplicates are a result of an as-yet-unexplainable quirk with the Website Payments Standard architecture.
    c) If you switch to the more reliable PayPal Express Checkout module instead, you won't have that problem, nor any of the various other problems which exist when using the WPS module. Switching takes 3 minutes and saves you all kinds of headaches. It doesn't cost anything different, and has all the same features as WPS.

    we only started having this issue with our new install of 1.3.9h - customers are worried they've been billed twice even though the order transaction number is the same. as far as we know no duplicate emails are being sent out. very disconcerting.

    will you post a fix here when you get one?

    should have explained that we last updated with 1.3.8a
