Default Character Set problem Injecting HTML Coded content from data feed

    zen cart 1.3.8a...

I am feeding review text into the site using a data feed. The source is a UTF-8 encoded csv file.

In the source file, there are certain html coded characters like " etc. The site is not re-encoding these characters so customer reviews are full of &'s, #'s, and numbers.

What should I do to ensure these html coded characters are displayed correctly?

If your shop is not having any other issues I suggest you convert the csv encoding to match

What encoding should i change it to? Currently the csv file is UTF-8, and I changed the column collation to utf8_general_ci because Latin_swedish was throwing exceptions on load.

Well good form would be to have it match the collation of your DB Tables but if standard you are getting exceptions

Mixing them usually has the end affect of strange characters as you have seen

All that I can find is this
