customer issue Users unable to update Address Book Entry

Hello ZC Gurus,
Could you please help with the following.

Having just upgraded from v1.3.8 to v1.3.9h, I have found a solitary problem while testing my upgraded site. Specifically, users cant update their primary address.

How to replicate the problem:
1. Log on as any user
2. Select “My Account”
3. Select “View or changes entries in my Address Book” (Primary address is shown)
4. Select Edit
5. Problem: No address is shown
6. If you select the “Update” button, a series of error messages is created, e.g. “Is your first name correct? Our system requires a minimum of 2 characters. Please try again”.

Note: I can update the user's details from the Admin login.

Background
Recently upgraded from v1.3.8 to v1.3.9h. Followed the instructions carefully and upgrade seemed to go smoothly.
Store Pickup is the only Shipping module installed.
Paypal Express Checkout (sandbox active) and Free Charge Card are the only payment modules installed.
No addons/contributions installed.
A number of language file changes to tailor messages, etc.
Code changes to present dates as dd/mm/yyyy rather than mm/dd/yyyy (these changes appear to work fine).
The store is correctly selling items to test users and is transacting payments using paypal sandbox accounts.

My investigations
I have confirmed that the v1.3.9h versions of files have been installed in the following directories:
/includes/modules/pages/address_book
/includes/modules/pages/address_book_processes
I also note that the following files in the folder address_book_processes have been updated since v1.3.8:
header_php_php
jscript_main.php

Apologies if that is too much detail. Looking forward to your response.
Regards,
Mick

Check to make sure this file was updated:

includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_address_book_process_default.php

As this file should not have been modified at any time, it should only reside in the template_default.

Hi Get Em Fast,
In relation to tpl_address_book_process_default.php, the following are all identical:
1. my installed version;
2. the version provided as part of v1.3.8
3. the version provided as part of v1.3.9h.
The version information is:
* @version $Id: tpl_address_book_process_default.php 2949 2006-02-03 01:09:07Z birdbrain $

I gather from your post this is as it should be. Correct?

Note: It is possible that I had this error with v1.3.8. I don't recall specifically testing or using this functionality.
Regards,
Mick

Note that the same problem occurs if I try to add a New Address Book Entry.

Hi, I am (and have been) using version 1.3.8a The site is in Japanese with JP/En admin.

I've looked for information on my problem throughout this forum and google searches, but have only found this one post that is anywhere similar.

I recently found out that customers are not able to edit their address information. They get the edit form, but the information entered does not save. I have checked the address book default and process php files against fresh files and no issues there.

I am able to edit and save through admin.

Would this be a database issue?

The site is http://misasfashioncafe.com

FIX FOUND.
Reading through tpl_address_book_process_default.php, I found it uses tpl_modules_address_book_details.php to "display the address book entry form".

My problem was tpl_modules_address_book_details.php was of zero file length. Presumably, this occurred when uploading the file to the server. The problem was resolved by uploading a fresh version from the original installation files.
Lesson learnt.
Thanks to Get EM Fast for heading me in the right direction.
