You should see the file name listed on that page, click the name and it should download.

I went through the first 5 pages of this forum and didn't see anyone that got this to work. I just tried and it didn't work and it is a little clunky to work with the excel file.

I managed to download a catalog which looked great. When I added 3 items and tried to upload the products I had to rename the _64bit folder to just 'excel' anddelete the old 'excel' folder because I'm on a 64bit operating sys. that got the import working. Then I lost one product and didn't gain any. I think I'll just try another.

I tried this install/reinstall several times with a new installation of ZenCart. From the ground up, step by step, I could not even get this to put a single item into the Carts Inventory, let alone, category or manufacturer data.

I got the add on to generate a report, but when you try to update back into the system it doesn't work.

I don't have any more time. This add on has been here for a year and I don't see anyone claiming it works, nor does the add on's creator seem to even want to get this working for ZenCart.

I give up.

I am really annoyed with excel populate. I have succesfully exported my products etc and then imported into a fresh install. When I go into a product none of the details are there. If I cancel the detail remains as per the import. I can view all the detail in the online store. If I change the Qty and update it loses all the detail apart from the price and SKU. Help

I am having a installation problem I think with Excel populate.

I followed the instructions and the option Excel Populate comes up in the catalog options in the admin control panel, but I just get an error message saying The requested URL /zc_admin/FILENAME_EXCEL.php was not found on this server, when I click on it.

I wasn't that sure about step 4 on the readme install guide. I created a file called filenames.php the contents of which are:

define('FILENAME_EXCEL', 'excel.php');
?>

and added it to the zc_admin/includes directory

Any ideas as it looks like it will be really useful.

when posting new products it would be great if you guys can explain how to install the products step by step and put out a youtube video on how to use it.it really help us newbies out.....thanks



i just added it into my admin folder where easy populate is dont know if it did anything

Hi to all, I am having problem with excel populate. My store is in Bulgarian and when I export my products to a xls sheet I get only "Креатинът д" it seems that there is some kind of a problem with the encoding, but I cannot find how to fix it... I tried to import to Open Office then save as CSV with UTF-8 format but still nothing , can you please help me!

I just installed Zencart 1.54 (fresh install using the test db) and wanted to try this plugin: Excel Populate. Does it work with 1.54? It installs ok and exports an Excel fiel, but if I try to "populate from file", I get a 500 server error. My server is unsing PHP 5.6.
Any ideas?

Changed permissions on the Excel file to 777, but that didn't help.
