Adding related key words / tags

I was looking around in the Attributes area and wondered if I add an attribute to my products called "Key Tags", could I list tags that ZenCart would automatically find similarly related products?

So for example, if I have a title of a movie, I can list the director in this field and Zen Cart could list related movies by that director? Or would this be a custom feature request?

I am needing this feature because it appears that I can not list items in a "parent" category if I have sub-categories defined for more specialised groupings of products.

That would have to be custom coded
