Looking for some clarification when using Specials in conjunction with Quantity Discounts.
Currently our store is setup with Quantity Discounts where discount type is Actual Price. This is fine, and works as expected. However, if a special is added for a given product with Quantity Discounts, basically nothing happens other then first column (the 1 thru break quantity-1) gets the special price and the other break points are show as it. These would have to be edited to show a specials additional discount, and again after a special ended for normal pricing.
If I understand correctly, when Quantity Discount are type Percentage and Discount Price is set to Special, then breaks will actually be calculated and shown for you. Unfortunately this is not an option for us.
It seems to me that in order to do what I need, I'd have to do some core edits and either add a new table, say "products_discount_quantity_specials", or possibly add a column to the "products_discount_quantity" table that can be used to keep two sets of quantity discounts.
If I'm nutz, please let me know, but I cannot seem to find a current solution to the above problem.
Please note that each quantity discount is type Actual Price. Percentage is not an option.
Thanks for any feedback/advice.
