insert in to in table

Good afernoon,
we are using your ZEN CART. We need to add automatically some items when the customer update the cart.
This items are the same every time the cart is updated.
We have trouble to find the point where the table insert the new items or update them, because in this point we need to add the fix item.

We try to work in the SHOPPING_CART.PHP file, but we did not understand exactly where the items are updated in the CUSTOMERS_BASKET table. Which function write in the table?
