    Default Terrable Mistake...

So Guys before I read anything I went ahead and purchased a GoDaddy account to host me website. I ended up getting like 50% off so it was not that expensive, but I now realize it is slow as . Is there anything that I could possibly do to speed it up? When the year hosting runs out I will be switching, but are there any small things that can be done to speed stuff up a little bit?

    Thanks,

    Jacob

That is a long time and lost sales due to speed may make this a penny wise error.....
You might be better off once setup, to move to a solid ecommerce host, eat the cost and avoid lost sales

So with GD that is what $10

One or more lost sales and a lost sale usually means that the shopper won't come back, makes up for any loss in hosting fees

    5. If it's your home page (ie: the storefront) that's slow, you might consider turning off content-boxes related to specials and featured products, as they generate a lot of extra queries to extract special pricing information.

    How is this done exactlly?

Also, is there anything else that you guys can think of that I could do? If it is runable with a little bit of lagg here and there I can deal with it for a month or two but if it is way way too bad then ill have to change now. Could you guys look at my site, I know it is kind of bear and plane right now but its a work in process. I am in school, have ROTC, and a 30hr a week job plus this. It takes a lot of time and whatever help is appreciated. GF-Performance.com

Also how hard is it to switch everything over to a new host? Is there an easy process? Which host would be the best for the price?

All of my boxes are turned to off except for catagories, but still at the bottom of the page is says new products for this month. How do you remove that?

Many that are ecommerce oriented will assist your move

    Is there an easy process?
Full copy of all of your files and a proper DB backup is all that is needed

You got lured into cheap hosting and that is what you received

If a brick & mortar, a shop on skid row is less expensive than one on 5th avenue

Recommending on the forum is not allowed....
