Another Newbie Shop Simulation Question

I'm just in design mode and a newbie. I want to use paypal ultimately. My question may also be somewhere in the doc (if so please point me in the right direction). I would like to send an order to paypal and get a verification back BUT obviously just a test transaction and not a real verification. I would like to test out the process from verify shopping cart items to order fulfillment. I expect this is already a feature (i.e. dummy transaction). Are there any suggestions for current documentation or any testing experiences that someone can offer. Hopefully, the general category is the proper place for this posting. As a newbie I would also like comments on which forum category is most appropriate. Thanks.

The best way to test this stuff is to go through an actual order. That's the only way you can know for sure if everything works properly.

I (and I suspect a lot of other Zenners) have a business Paypal account for the websites and a personal Paypal account for testing. The money just goes from me to me, and you can cancel the transaction to get the Paypal fees back.

Thanks Stevesh. I did not want to blast a lot of transactions to paypal but your suggestion is definitely a real world test. Guess the key word is to test "conservatively" at that part of development. This is my first post so should I close this thread or does time just render them less meaningful? If we should close our threads I don't see an obvious option?
