Default Cofirm Order takes me back to step 2, using Red Fin Network gateway

Has anyone solved this problem? I too am having issues with the error messages not showing when invalid card types are entered. I just get sent back to the page to fill out the credit card info after trying to confirm the order.

The browser shows the following message though:

"index.php?main_page=checkout_payment&payment_error=redfin&status=Failed to validate credit card: Unknown Card Type :"

Credit card types that I have specified are OK in the Configuration --> Credit Cards area go through to the merchant account and are recorded in the transaction list.

This is a new install of Zen cart v. 1.3.9 using the classic template that comes with the install.
This is only my second Zen store that I have done, so I'm still a newbie at this.
It is hosted on Network Solutions
There is one add-on installed - it is a custom payment module given to me by the payment gateway company. It is a plug-in created for Zen Cart. The Payment Gateway company is Red Fin Network.
Customization I have done includes changing the name of the Home link in the "header.php" file, added my own background and header graphics along with changing the stylesheets to make it look more like it's companion website.
I do like uploading revised files via FTP rather than from the administration area...faster and easier...don't know if that can cause an issue.

This site is technically not open for business while it is still under development, but can be found at:

    w w w .p b w i f f. c o m /newebsite/zencart

Any help or ideas are appreciated!

    Thanks.

Your payment module is passing error messages via the URL, instead of via the $messageStack.
You'll need to rewrite the addon so that errors are handled properly. Otherwise you won't see the messages, and may even encounter blank pages instead of being shown the payment options screen again.

Spoke with the people who provided the add-on and they tested it and say the module is working properly and that this problem is VERY common in Zen Cart installations. There is nothing they can (or will) do to help me. Is rewriting the module a complex task? Do I need a programmer for this?

    BTW, the store url has been changed to: w w w .p b w i f f. c o m/shop

As always, any help is appreciated.

If their expertise is such that they simply ignore something that they deem to be a common problem, then it suggests they don't really know what they're talking about.
As you say, they're not interested in helping their customers.

Without seeing the module code, I can't tell you how complex it is to adjust what they've done wrong, or what they've not kept up-to-date.

    Dr. Byte.

Thank you so much for your help. Armed with the information you provided, I was able to get a tech support on the phone and convince him that he needed to modify the add-on for me. It actually works now!

    You're the best! Thanks again.
