    Default Re: Front End Pages Blank after Admin folder Rename

    OK I finally got the cache file record to work and here was the content of the file that was written when I went to the home page of my front end.

    installerConfigKeys|a:1:{s:8:"language";s:7:"english";}logfilename|s:27:"Dec-17-2010_02-37-45-j8mTLW";installerConfigInfo|a:0:{}

    I have no idea what this means. I have also tried a couple different things without any success. I have circled around and come back to where I have started. I am thinking now I may have deleted a file off of my server unintentionally. Hope this may help you diagnose my probs it possible. Thanks!

    Default Re: Front End Pages Blank after Admin folder Rename

    Alright so I am just going to keep posting what I am up to trying to hammer my way through this in hopes that someone out there can help.

    I am still working with the configure.php file that is located in the root --> includes of my site. I am getting a completely blank page (source code and everything) when visiting the front end of my site. When I change the table prefix to nothing and refresh my page it still comes up blank, but it takes me to the 'down_for_maintenance' in the address bar, still coming up blank.

    When I put my table prefix back in place my homepage comes up blank once again.

    If this is a new install and you are just beginning to edit/change things....
    Try reloading/overwriting all the files from a fresh distribution of the same version that you first installed

    With FTP this should be only a few drag & drop excecutions

    Thanks for the reply Kobra. Unfortunately this was a store I created about 2 years ago and I was just getting around to moving the admin folder when I had this problem. I have quite a few mods done and I am a little cautious about reloading all of the core files. Is there a way to know which files may be causing my problem? I know it is probably a needle in a hay stack.

    A search of the Tutorials and also on the forum didn't yield any results worth noting. Would it be wise to compare a fresh v1.3.8 download against the files I have on my server? I am thinking maybe a file was deleted off the server that may be necessary, or does this seem crazy?

    Thaat would be a start....
    Might try first switching to the classic template
    If you have used the override system this would load from all core files and might limit it to only your template override files which will not be in a compare of the file sets

    Well I found the problem!!! All is working now.

    I had the Google Base Feeder Mod installed which requires some code to be added at the beginning of the index.php file in the root of the site. For some reason it did not like when I changed the admin folder name and would not allow the front end of the site to display.

    I was just getting ready to compare a fresh install to my current site when I realized the index.php file size was different so I uploaded the fresh index.php and there you have it. Everything is working now. Please let me know if there is anything you would like to further post in order to rectify any questions future views may have.

    Thanks a ton for your help Kobra! It really makes a world of difference, for us who don't have a lot of knowledge in the scripting world, to know we have a team of willing individuals who are there to help.
