Remove "Buy Now" from Product Listing

I apologize if this has already been asked. I've searched pretty thoroughly and couldn't find anything...

How can I remove the "Buy Now" button from the Product Listing page(s)? I've somehow managed to in some categories, but not others. I've compared product listings side by side, though, and don't see anything different.

For example, there are no "Buy Now" buttons in Alphabets, but there are in "Craft Fair">Christine's Table>Greeting Cards.

It looks like any with the download attribute do not have the buy now whereas those without an attribute do

Post your admin > config > productlisting settings

I have no Buy Now buttons on anything (previously posted my problem on a different thread w/no solution). ALL my products are Downloads--does that have anything to do with this? I am not following the solution given above. I have checked the Admin--Config--ProductListing countless times.

Downloads use Attributes ...

Products with Attributes only have the Add to Cart/Buy Now on the product _info page but not in any of the Listings ...

I believe if you change the code in the product_listing.php module around line 111 from:

to read:

it would give you the buy now button instead of the more info ...

I tried that, but then got completely blank product listing pages. So I put back the old code, but my pages are still blank. any ideas?

Got it fixed with outside help, so can't share how it was done! Am being told that I have to have my "buy" buttons on the Product page for my download products, and it's too complicated to do otherwise. Thanks for your help, tho.
