Default Insecure login from product info page

    Hi,

I'm having an issue with logging in from the product info display page. I get the "insecure content" message in IE.

If I log in from the main page, there's no problem.

But if I view a product then attempt to log in from that page, the insecure box pops up in IE.

I've loaded the resulting page both ways - with the "insecure" content and without the insecure content and compared the source files and they're identical.

In the past I've had no problem troubleshooting this sort of thing, it usually comes from an image that's hard coded with http:, but there doesn't seem to be any difference in the 2 pages.

My test setup doesn't use ssl, so I can't check a clean installation. Does anyone else get this issue or have another method for tracking down the problem?

    Many thanks,

    Ed

Only way to tell is to View Source within your Browser then search for 'http:'

Could be it is a link to Google or some other place and perhaps something hard coded from a module.

Yeah, I've checked and don't see anything, it's usually pretty easy to find.

I also went to someone else's Zen Cart site and encountered the same thing. Logging in from the view product page produced the same insecure page warning.

So either we've both made the same error or maybe my IE needs updating.

    thanks,

    Ed

If not in the source code for the page it could be in a CSS or JS file. You could also have IE not show insecure content and see what is missing; either from memory or by having another Browser tab showing the insecure content. These things can be tracked down but it will take time to check everything.

Well, this is a puzzling one for sure.

All images are being displayed securely. There are no absolute links in any css files. Javascript seems to be loading only relative links.

I compared both versions of the source that IE displayed, both with insecure content and without, and both source files are the same.

The insecure content message is not triggered in Firefox, Chrome, or Opera, only in IE, so it must be something obscure or something that Explorer doesn't like.

    I'll keep looking though!

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm beginning to think that the problem is not with my site specifically. I've now seen this behavior on 3 different Zen Cart sites I've visited.

Can someone using 1.39h and SSL try this and see if you experience the same issue:

Use Internet Explorer for this test.

    View an individual product page.

From that page, click login (which should be a secure page).

After the login, as it is returning you to the product page that you were just viewing, see if you get a message about insecure content.

    Many thanks,

    Ed
