Ultimate Cross Sell [Support Thread]

Features:

• Centerboxes for Upsell, Cross Sell and Related Products.
• Enable and Disable individual Centerboxes from the admin.
• Also Purchased Products Centerbox on Shopping Cart.
• Cross Sell Products Centerbox on Shopping Cart.

I would like to have just the up-sell box on the product information page and just the cross-sell box (and possibly the related-products and also-purchased boxes) on the cart page. Can anyone suggest code changes to accomplish that?

Nice contribution but how do you actually link products for cross sell. This is my first cross sell mod and I can't seem to figure out the Catalog-> UCS page.

In order to link your products, simply go to Admin > Catalog > Ultimate Cross Sell. At the top, choose which Table to edit from the dropdown:
1 = Cross Sell,
2 = Up Sell,
3 = Related Products

Below on the same page under New Cross Sell > Cross Sell applies to: > Product id(s), enter two product IDs separated by a comma and click on the "insert" button. You should see a message at the top of the page indicating that the product was sucessfully added to the database. You can click on the "Current Cross Sell" link on the right to see the products that are currently on the database.

Note: By default, when entering products using any of the 3 tables, you'll utilize the format "product id" "comma" "product id" i.e 12,21.

If you would like to change it to a preference of your choice, go to Admin > Configuration > Ultimate Cross Sell Settings and change options 3. Ultimate Cross Sell Input Type To Be Used In Form and 4. Ultimate Cross Sell Product Input Separator.

Incidentally, in order to display your Cross Sell products on your product page, choose option 5. Display Ultimate Cross Sells on Product Page and make your changes.

Choose to use cross sell centerbox to be displayed on the product page.

1. Cross Sell
2. Up Sell
3. Related Products
4. ALL

You can also choose the sideboxes method by going to Admin > Tools > Layout Boxes Controller and adjusting the settings to your preference for the following sideboxes:

1. sideboxes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/related.php
2. sideboxes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/up_sell.php
3. sideboxes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/cross_sell.php

Currently, when a customer clicks the Buy Now button in the center box or side box on product pages, the product is added to their cart, but they are re-directed to a page that says "Sorry, the product was not found." Is there a way to fix this?

There sure is. It's called test, test, test then test some more! (Lesson Learned)


I apologize for any inconvenience. I just uploaded a new version to the Downloads page since I had to update four files to correct the problem you were experiencing.
1. Bug Fix - Corrected improper code on the Related Products Sidebox.
2. Added Instructions on How To Use.
3. Bug Fix - Corrected improper redirect which resulted on message "Sorry, the product was not found." after clicking on the "Buy Now" button when Admin > Configuration > My Store > Display Cart After Adding Product was set to false, to redirtect to same Product Info page.

Ok, thank you. Just to make sure, the one you linked to is the latest version, correct? I am asking because it says it was last updated on December 27.

The link I posted directs you to the actual contribution page. When contributions are updated they are posted in the same page. It is a little too early for the Zen Cart Team to have reviewed it yet.

Is there a way to alter the code to have it cross sell by category instead of individual products?
