shopping cart & estimator display totals

I finally ran into a customer who wants something fixed that's been bothering me for a long time.

The totals display at the top of the displays:
Items: 18Weight: 132lbsTotal: $2,267.10

Even tho there are spaces added into the language files so that those don't run together, I have found that changing the language file does not affect that text at all if I change it.

I found an old post from 2009 that went thru the same process I've gone thru and they came to the same conclusion.

I can easily change the module for the shipping estimator to put those spaces in but I don't want to have to edit the shopping cart header for this since it's core and it will get forgotten come the next upgrade.

Does anyone know what's up with this?

What version Zen Cart?

Clean install or an Upgrade?

If you switch to the Classic Template does it display correctly?

I'm working in a 1.3.9h cart which has been upgraded but I do know the display hasn't been right in the cart itself for a long time.

I just checked a default install which doesn't the problem. So it's the upgrade. I'm checking now to see what might be causing it. Any ideas?

No template override. The language override removal did not change the display. No module override. Could there be a file that has been removed from zen cart that's left in. Of course there's some mods but nothing to overwrite core files, I think. I had to reinstall everything.

Do a search, in the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... in the bottom input box for:
TEXT_TOTAL_ITEMS

and select Catalog ... and click Search ... what comes up?

the cart summary sidebox / header has it also . Thanks, once again! My favorite people belong to the Zen cart team!

If you could do the search that I requested in the Developers Tool Kit, we might be able to see why this is happening to you and cannot be repeated on a default install ...

I did and found that those same terms were in the cart_summary sidebox mod that I used.

Could you share with me the code that you found in that search? I cannot guess what you found as there is a problem with it ...
