Blank Page! Missing Index.php for Template

We are using version 1.3.9 and our site was working fine until a blank page appeared. When we contacted our hosting provider, Host gator, they told us our template's Index.php file was missing.

I'm not sure what's going on and even the host was a bit lost in all this. Does anyone know how to retrieve the proper index.php file or if this is even the right problem?

Normaly a template does not have a index.php of its own

check a fresh download of your templates files

Thank you for the reply! I had an old backup and there was no index.php file. I was told it was missing by some basic reps at our host, but they finally got one of their admins to help me out.

They finally found out about the problem. Apparently, our Magic SEO links were overloading our PHP memory limit. I'm not sure why it crashed the server, but everything seems to have been restored to working order.

Does anyone know of a good way to prevent this error? We really need the smart URLs but can't have our server overloaded. We do have a dedicated server, so if anyone knows of a way to utilize that, we would appreciate any suggestions.

I read that smart urls were problematic, but I had no clue it would cause a blank page.
