problems with installing the email address list modification

Hi I just tried to install the email address exporter mod. and it didn't take.. I just uploaded all the files retaining the file structure as instructed. Nothing happened. There is nothing in "Tools" on my dashboard. I am using this version of zen cart 1.39g. I have had many problems with this version with the html like on the define page editor. Does this have anything to do with why it did not install? I do not know how to edit .css and .php files at all and have left this version to itself and just worked around it..

What do I need to do to have this exporter show up.

It works fine for me in 1.3.9h. The first thing I would do if were you is upgrade to 1.3.9h, though that mod has worked since 1.3.0 and I doubt if that's your problem.

I don't know how you uploaded the files, but if you open the 'admin' folder in the mod and drag the 'includes' folder and the email_export.php file to your (renamed) admin folder at your site, it should work.

I did just that to my admin folder and nothing happened again.. I never renamed that folder.. I don't like messing with the files anymore as I have crashed this site a few times and I am having a big sale on Saturday and do not even want it to go down .. I have had problems with this version of Zen Cart. My old shop never had a problem but that was a different shop with a way older version.. anymore suggestions on what I might do.. What about the CHMOD what should that be set at. It is at 755 right now..

It's awkward to keep suggesting that you aren't doing what you think you're doing, but if you are:

Unzipping the mod zip file on your local computer.

Using your FTP program to drag and drop the 'includes' folder and the email_export.php file from the 'admin' folder in the mod to your admin folder on your site.

It pretty much has to work.

755 should work fine for the permissions.

Don't be too quick to suspect version 1.3.9g as responsible for any problem. The only bug in that version was the HTML thing.

If I were you, I would wait until after the sale on Saturday (you'll want the emails of the new customers, anyway) then upgrade to 1.3.9h and change your admin folder name. Then install the mod.

Thanks, I have done everything right. I have configured this before in my other shop.. It doesn't work.. duh.. LOL I will wait for awhile and if I have to do the exporting by hand.. How fun will that be!

I've had the same problem, I wonder if this is the issue;

550 Can't create directory: File exists

What should I do now?
