USPS module not working in shipping estimator

Hi,

I've seen some posts on this before, but have not been able to resolve my issue. The USPS prices aren't showing up in my shipping estimator for international locations.

When you go though the checkout process, the USPS prices show up. But in the estimator, it just won't work any more. You can have a look at it for yourself: http://www.fuelsaver-mpg.com . Put something in the cart and use the estimate shipping button. Try France, but really any country I tried didn't work.

I followed Ajeh's advice in another thread, and reinstalled the new USPS shipping module which I got from this thread: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144992 . I un-installed the USPS module, then downloaded the new one, and reinstalled the new one. I don't know what else to try.

I'm using ZenCart ver 1.3.8a. I know I should upgrade, but I have too much customization to do the upgrade lightly. I will be getting to it this winter some time, but its not a short project for me. I'm hoping there are some other USPS files that aren't in the Jan 4, 2010 upgrade that I can replace that might resolve this.

Ajeh: I added that code to my main css file for my template. It wasn't defined before. But that didn't change the behavior. I also tried switching to the classic template. That also didn't change the behavior.

Kobra: It used to be that only the country was required, and I got all of the shipping prices for USPS and UPS. Currently, France doesn't show anything - no USPS nor UPS. But UK does show UPS. I get the same results when I just indicate the UK, as when I add the details that you suggested. I get UPS pricing, but not USPS. Also, I tested the France estimate with a known good address, and I got the same result as with the country alone.

For international customers, USPS is the only really feasible shipping method.

I may not have mentioned this, but this situation has only come up recently. I used to be able to get USPS shipping prices by putting the country in only. I haven't been changing anything in my store for quite a long time, and it was working at that time. I had an international customer bring it to my attention today, and don't know how long it's been going on. It seems to me that it could be a change to USPS software that is causing this to happen to. But I would think others would be reporting it.

I ran the debug option on and got the following email when I tried to get an estimate for France:

I am assuming that you have confirmed that you are using the USPS January 2, 2011 C version of the usps.php ...

Uh... no. I used the update from Jan 2010. That may be the whole problem. I'm not sure why it didn't come up in my search. I guess I was searching on the estimator only, because as best I can tell, USPS is working fine when doing the checkout process.

I'm up against it for a few hours, then I'll get back and load the new USPS module. I'll post the results shortly.... Thanks.

And that having loaded the 2011 version vs the 2010 version with a similar date ... go figure, it's the way USPS does things ... worked best ...
