Default Newbie - installation advice please

Some months ago I installed 1.3.9g on a Zeus server and had issues with .htaccess (posted here). I have now 'migrated' to an Apache server and am about to install 1.3.9h.

I noticed previously that, in addition to sample data, other stuff relating to music sales was loaded - but I didnt spot an option to 'not' load it in the first place.

Any advice on carrying out an absolutely virgin installation?

Has anyone any good links to advice/tutorials/ examples on setting up sales of downloadable paper products/

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

The option to "not load" was in one of the check boxes near the bottom of the page during installation,
Prob the best advice at this stage is to load the sample products and play around with your store until you are familier with the basics and simply delete the whole thing and reinstall it as you would like it.

    downloadable paper products
Downloadable products are "virtual" products - unless you mean some kind of manual which people can print out after downloading.

Donal - thanks for the comment - that was the purpose of the exercise prviously. I am 'reasonably' happy with configuring items for sale, shop management etc. Itsthe new shop setup that puzzles me. Yes I know about the 'not load' button - but that still leaves thinks like the music store extras loaded. Which I dont need.

Vger - I will be selling Steam Locomotive Driver Experience courses. There is no physical product. However I need a 'confirmation' that they have read the terms and conditions relating to the cours and that they confirm they are fit enough. Can that be a tick box on the sale or does it need to be a downloaded form as part of the sale?

Later we may also offer ticket sales.

In the Zen Cart admin panel you have the ability to enable "Confirm Terms and Conditions During Checkout Procedure" in the Regulations link under Configuration.

Thanks Vger - thats a great help.

They also need to receive some paper work, location details, accomodation details etc; - which can either be emailed seperately - but better would be 'downloaded' pdf files - in a similar way to music files maybe?
