Logo.gif is not removed - but dimensions are changed

Hi - similar questions have been asked before, but none of the answers worked for me. -
I want to change the logo.gif in the header; I understand that I need to upload a new logo to includes/templates/classic/images; I have also tried to uploiad to my own template and I have changed logo.gif in the admin part -- however the image stays the same.
The strange thing is that the dimensions change to the size of my own logo -- but the pictiure as such stays the same.

Before I get more confused, I would like the kind experts out there for advice. If you want to have a look at my site, please check wotanimport dot com/catalog

I use 1.3.8, as this has a Danish pack.

It belongs in your templates /images folder

Did you retain the name & file type as "logo.gif"?

Thank you for your confirmation.
I was victim of a display caprice - never experienced something similar before. --
When I logged in the next morning, it was as I wanted it to be. In similar cases I will restart the browser instead of simply refreshing it.
