Format Product Name

Is there a reason to NOT use html formatting within Product Name?

I tried adding <br /><small>added text</small> after the product name but within the same field to add some subscript extra words to the product name so that it will still fit my product listing.

It works but my question is - will this be mucking up something else by doing this?

(the code is showing up in my seo mod url's, but before I find out if I can change that behaviour I first want to know if using these tags is considered a bad idea in the firt place ;o) )
