Shipping Two Items Using Different Methods U

I tried searching for this but so many variations came up and none really applied. My questions is from my ignorance and seems as if it will be an easy fix, but I am new at this.

I have one item that I sell for $16 that I only want to ship USPS flat rate - no other options.

Most everything else I want to offer USPS and DHL and it will be calculated by weight.

Can someone please guide me though this? I have the ZenCart book in the mail and should have it soon, so I will not have to pepper the forums with stupid questions after this. Thanks!

When you say USPS Flat Rate are you wanting to charge $4.95 on this regardless of the Quantity or $4.95 per quantity when this is the only Product in the cart?

You say everything else can be shipped by USPS or DHL by weight ...

What should happen when this product is in the cart with other Products?

Thank you for your response and excellent questions. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate them! I want to launch my store, but without having shipping costs nailed down, I am apprehensive about it.

The flat rate is for a 2 ounce package with a custom patch set. People will typically not order more than one or two so that rate is perfect. However, I was considering bumping the cost up and calling it free shipping.

If the patch set is ordered with another item (more than likely, a leather jacket) it will ship free, as it will not really affect the weight of the package.

I would like everything else to ship either USPS or DHL as you have indicated, but I cannot find a DHL customization for Zen Cart.

What is not working now with USPS when you add 1 or 2 to the Order?

Sorry, I am not following this.

I only want the flat rate option to show for the patch set. No other shipping options should be available.

For everything else, I want multiple options to select from, except no flat rate option....

Do you want Flat Rate flat to be the only shipping module to show when a specific products_id is the only Product in the cart?

Yes, but not for the other items. For instance, the patch set will show as flat rate only.

The leather jackets will show as everything but flat rate.

I ordered the Zen Cart book and was hoping that it would come a lot faster from Lulu - so I would not have to bother everyone, as it seems simple.

You could test the content of the shopping cart for this specific products_id and if that is all that is in the cart then only show the shipping module for Flat Rate flat and turn off the USPS ...

But I am not really seeing what the difference would be to run the USPS shipping module as it is written to manage low weight orders and let the customer pick what method they want ...

How do you have the USPS shipping module configured? What do you see on the right panel when you click on USPS shipping module?

I have always shipped the patches USPS Priority Mail, so I wanted to remain constant for that item only.
