[ZC1.39F] Easy Populate > Is there still a "Select Category/Manufacturer"?

My Client has been complaining that there is no way to Select a Certain area of products to Download. He has nearly 27,000 products and there's no way for him to download them using Easy Populate 1.2.5.7.csv

The Server Jams in the middle of attempting to create the CSV or Tab Delimited file... Whichever.

He wants to be able to get a Spreadsheet built from specific fields or by Manufacturer or Category. I did a little research and it seems as if this already WAS a feature of Zen Cart. But I have no way of telling if it IS a feature by default.

So first question
IS there already a Select by Category/Manufacturers?

If so...

What are common reasons for it not to show in my version of Zen Cart?

Second Question

Are there any Mods that allow you to edit Easy Populate? I haven't found any with my own Google Fu, but I figure people here are far more literate in Zen Cart.

1. I have not came across any mod that would allow you to download Zen Cart catalog based on selected manufacturer or category.
2. Easy populate is a mod by itself. Are you asking if there is a mod to edit the mod? I have 200,000 products and I am able to download them using EP.

I don't see a reason why you would need to download all the store database at once. I can understand if you have to update prices or quantity in bulk which can be done using the right template to download in EP.

If you are having timing out issues this can be fixed by using a custom php.ini file if you are on Shared server or editing the php configuration on a dedicated server.

I use advanced EP in which I am able to create custom templates to product specification that I update often (This include some coding, not available in admin section) which I think is also possible with Free EP.

Simple answer, No you can't do what you are looking for within Zen Cart original code.

I understand that, but I can't explain that to the Client. They firmly believe in downloading only certain products and being able to choose which one. Something about some mod or add on they had with OpenCommerce.

Apparently in his OC site, he was able to specify which ones he wanted to download.

No, I haven't seen any such mod. But Everything is possible perhaps you can develop that mod to your client.
