    So far, in v1.3.9h I cannot reproduce this problem ...

    I add a product to the cart ...

    I click checkout ...

    I login (if not already logged in) ...

    I pick a shipping method ...

    I click Continue ...

    I enter an amount in the Applied Balance ...

    I hit enter or click continue ...

    Now I am on the checkout_confirmation and can just hit continue to complete the order ...


    Could you do a click for click step through of what you are doing that you cannot follow these same steps on your site?

    Could you do a click for click step through of what you are doing that you cannot follow these same steps on your site?
    Sure thing FYI - just tested this functionality on a demo cart (fresh install 139h) and it works fine. So obviously the problem lies somewhere in my store.

    Click by Click:

    • Select a product
    • Add to cart
    • Click Go To Check Out
    • Select the shipping method
    • Click Continue Checkout
    • Acknowledge Terms & Conditions
    • Scroll down to Gift Certificate area
    • Enter the total in the Apply Amount box
    • Hit Enter and/or click Continue Checkout (result is same for both)
    • Get Error: "Please select a payment method for your order"
    • This makes it impossible to reach the order confirmation page and complete the order.


    No debug logs in the cache folder so I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting.

    I still cannot reproduce the problem ...

    If you switch to the Classic Template and start over, does this change how the checkout works for you?

    Is this a clean install of v1.3.9h or an upgrade?

    • I am also unable to reproduce the problem on a fresh install of 139h
    • My store is an upgrade to 139h from 138a. I can't say if it worked prior to upgrade as I just now got around to testing this functionality.
    • Changing to Classic Template has no affect.

    I would recheck your files on the server and make sure nothing was missed ...

    It almost sounds like something is still out of date ...

    Another thing to check is going through all of the Modules for Payment, Shipping and Order Totals and saving the current settings to NotePad then do a REMOVE, INSTALL and reconfigure to ensure all settings are current ...

    Thanks Ajeh. I can go through the payment, shipping and OT mods to remove/re-install and re-configure (although I recently did that when I upgraded to 139h).

    But in terms of checking my files....I wouldn't know what to look for, so I'd probably have to redo the upgrade.

    When I upgraded, I overrode everything from my 138a install, except for what was in my override folders. Then, for changes to files outside of the override system, I did a file compare between my backed up 138a and 139h before incorporating my changes into the 139h files and uploading to the server.

    I'm aware there were a few files inside the override system that changed with the upgrade, so I did the same thing with them (file comparison between old and new and incorporated my customizations to the new file and uploaded).

    Finally, I went through and deleted all the deprecated files.

    I'd rather leave it as it is than go through another upgrade, but I do thank you for your help

    You should also compare the files in v1.3.9h to all of your override files to see if there are any updates that need to be merged into your templates and overrides ...

    Software such as Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com can be of great help with this ...
