How can make these kinds of Layouts?

I would like to lay out my store to look really similar to these 4 examples:

www.gandermountain.com

www.BassPro.com

- (I really like this layout)

Or even close to

www.islandbeachgear.com

without the top tabs. I really like the flyout sub categories of the first 3 examples, be cause I have tons of sub categories.

I don't know code but am not totally computer illiterate.

Any help is appreciated

You can turn off either or both sidebox columns globally in Admin - Configuration - Layout Settings.

Ok, thank you stevesh....and can you also turn off the Horizontal catagories across the top? and just keep the vertical one on left side box?
