I use the "Display Only" function on some attributes to indicate the items are temporarily out of stock and to prevent people from purchasing them.
I have run issues I can't currently fix.
Sometimes people are still able to checkout with the product even though that product has only 1 attribute and that attribute is marked "display only." When this happens, on the invoice the product either appears with no attribute listed or with a blank attribute. Yet when I test it myself it doesn't let me add the item to the cart.
So I assume it means they already had them in their cart, but even then for me it tells me the item/attribute is not currently available.
Any thoughts on how to fix or prevent this blooper?
