Shipping option disappears with more than N items in cart

We are using UPS model. It works great if there are 17 or less items (1 product - quantity 17) . But once we reach 18 items (quantity=18), the shipping option disappears on checkout. The weight of each item is 7 and we set max weight to 10000 so that shouldnt be the issue.

If we break the order into two pieces, then it works fine since we reduce the quantity. Can someone please help us?? is there some configuration we need to use?

UPS does not ship a 10000 lb box ...

Lower that setting on the Maximum Weight to meet the limits of UPS for the size of a box and see if that doesn't fix things for you ...
