Resize Pop Up window according to image inside?

Currently, the product's "view larger image" pop-up window is only opening at about 100px wide. I have to pull on the corner of the window to get to see the whole photo.

1) Can I make the popup window automatically resize according to the image inside?

2) If that's too difficult, is there at least a way I can get the popup window to be one large, consistent size?

You might want to consider using Fual Slimbox instead of the out-of-the-box system.

I've got a rather similar question, and I didn't want to waste another thread, but I do realize this thread is rather old, so I'm not sure what the proper way to go about it is.

Anyway, is there a way to have that popup image window not resizable? I have it set to about 640 x 480 and I don't want the user to be able to change the size of the window.

also, I looked into the slimbox, but it's not compatible with my version (1.3.9h)

slimbox is indeed compatible with 1.3.9h

AND far preferable to the pop-up window.
