    Default Admin Customization

New Zenner with a customization question.

If I am taking some time to learn Zen Cart from the admin control screen, would it be wise to install a new template, and then play around with the customization? I am worried that if I start messing around with stuff, when I go to put in my new template there will be errors because of something I've done.

    can anyone help?

    thanks

There's nothing you can do in admin (other than edit define pages) that will affect any template files. That said, if this is going to be your actual site (as opposed to a test site for learning purposes), you should create your custom template first thing, so when you start editing files, you'll be doing so in the right place.

It is a test site, but my assumption is that once everything is in place it will then become the actual site (as I am just working them, I am not exactly sure).

I will probably do the template first and then do to customization if that sounds correct.
