    Default Installing a template

I really hate asking this, but I have tried and tried and cannot get the template installed.

I just installed Zen-Cart, so this is all new to me.

In FTP, on the remote site, I go to /public_html > zencart > includes > templates

On my local system, I go to cherry_zen_template_1-8> Cherry Zen 1.8 > includes

and upload that to the remote site. That didn't work.

I tried uploading several of the files, but still cannot get the template to show up.

Surely if I am having this rough of a start, it has to mean it will get easier .... one can only hope.

    Thanks bunches! Jules

That is the issue try this and transfer the includes local folder to the file space on the remote

In FTP, on the remote site, Go to /public_html > zencart - - where you can see the admin. email and includes folders

On your local system, Go to cherry_zen_template_1-8> Cherry Zen 1.8 > includes

Drag/transfer the includes folder to the file space(not on top of any remote folder

Thanks Kobra ... so the 'includes' folder will replace the 'includes' folder already on there?

It won't "replace" the includes folder it will only add the files that are in the template you are using.

One other template question ... is there a good tutorial on customizing a template ... ie, how to add your logo, etc?

    Thank you so much!! Jules

It didn't work. It is on my server, but when I log into the admin, it is not in the drop-down.

I cleared my cache and cookies and reloaded my browser, and it's still not there.

    Any ideas?

You have not done this correctly, as I know that the cherry zen template is pre-constructed in correct ZenCart format and if transferring as suggested all template files will transfer to the correct places

I did exactly as instructed, and it does show up in my host file manager. It just doesn't show up in the drop down.

On the remote site: /public_html > zencart

On the local site: cherry_zen_template_1-8 > Cherry Zen 1.8 > includes

The only thing that I question is that it never gave me a message like "Includes folder already exists, do you want to replace it?" or something like that.

I'm feeling very stoopid right now, and I apologize.

    Thanks! Jules

If you actually mean the host provided file manager - - this is not where you will see this

You need to open your ZenCart admin

    admin > tools > template selection >

See the instructions at the bottom of this tutorial
