Making a "Address Line 2" registration field a required

Hi,

during the new account registration process there is a field called "Address Line 2". This field is actually for suburb and is not required.

Now, what I need to do is to make this field a required one - mandatory so when I customer doesn't enter anything it doesn't allow to create an account.

Like you said this is optional in most countries. Why would you want it to be required. What if a customer doesn't have a second address such as Apt or Suite, or they choose to write their complete address in one line. Are you willing to loose a sale or a customer because you are making them think why there account hasn't been created.

You can look into the create_account header and copy the rules from address 1 to address 2 then edit your create_account module and create_account template to pass the required field to the customer.

Thank you for the reply, but do I really have to explain why I need it? I'm looking for a solution how to make it happen not why I shouldn't do it.

disable second line address

you can configure all extrafield to be required.
