Default Do not receive emails from my site

I have tried many different methods, PHP, Sendmail, now I'm trying smtp.

I have set the archive feature on and they show up in the E-mail Archive Manager Extension... So why arn't they going to my email?

Here are my settings from my [Admin] > Configuration > Email Options

Looks like the smtp worked! I send a email and in about 15 min it comes to my inbox... Why so long?

I had a similar problem with php. My site had been working for months then sometime this week it stopped sending emails to me.

I tested new orders, reviews, and contact us. All the same results. No joy.

Anybody got a clue what may be happening? Has anyone else experienced this issue?

    All comments appreciated.

Everyone hosted by GoDaddy (directly or via a Reseller) who was using PHP or Sendmail as the Email Transport Method in their eCommerce websites.

They changed their system around a week ago to only allow SMTP, without telling anyone of course.

Consider yourself lucky. Up until Saturday their mail queue was taking around 2 days to clear.

I wasted 2 entire days trying to figure out what 'I' had done wrong.

2 phone calls to Go-Daddy to see if the problem was on their end..(2 calls because I am stubborn and can't take no for an answer most times). Each time they told me everything was ok on their end and that I needed to search the zencart forums for a solution. And so I did. 2 entire days fretting over this.

Then I start reading in the forums how Go-Daddy 'sits' on the emails. Apparently this is so because all of a sudden Day 3's emails started coming through. I never received Day 1 & 2's emails and I am presuming they are all lost in space. (Thankfully they are all tests).

I am getting the emails regularly now but some can take over an hr to get to their intended target. This is not so good when my contact page has a default that says if we don't respond within an hr to resend the email. Guess if I stay with Go-Daddy I am going to have to fix that. (Which I may switch in the future, we will see how it goes.

    Good luck everybody...

What actually happens is that all emails from websites on a shared server go into a common mail queue. The more sites that are packed onto a server the longer the mail queue becomes.

Using SMTP for all outgoing mail causes major further delays. PHP and Sendmail are much quicker at sending out emails.

    Hm...

But when I change anything in my emails they stop going out/coming in. I don't feel like I have a choice but to keep it set at SMTP.

    Any suggestions?

    Another server altogether???

Correct - you don't have any choice. I have no idea why they have disallowed PHP and Sendmail, which are quicker by far and also far less resource intensive than SMTP.
