Formatting problem

Could someone tell me how to fix an issue I am having on my homepage. The banner across the top is dropped down a quarter inch now and doesn't match up. I changed something towards the bottom of the page in the file tpl_main_page.php but it somehow affected the top banner and now I can't get it back in place.

Didn't back up the file...

If you don't mind my saying so, you (or someone) have gone to a lot of trouble to add all that table stuff to the header code to no apparent advanatge.

Yes, a coder set up the site for me and I really only know how to change the content. Php is beyond my scope. I did try to save the file with the appropriate utf-8 coding but I was using notepad so there was no option for "without BOM".

Is there another file editor I should use for this in order to get it in the proper format? Also, I have used notepad in the past to edit this file and the formatting issue never popped up.

Ideas?

You could try an editor like Notepad++ (free). That may save the file in the proper format, or give you the option.

Tried the notepad ++ route but still cannot find the problem...any more ideas? Do I really have to pay a designer to fix a margin issue?

If you look in your tpl_main_page.php file you should be able to find those characters somewhere between line 53 and line 63. Delete the characters, but only the characters, and that should take care of your problem.
